Summer weather is (finally!) approaching, and that means: time to get the play area ready for long, lazy, and active days. Whether you have a playroom or a garden, with a few smart choices, it quickly becomes a place where they can be happy for hours.

In the playroom: cool and inviting

Not every day is suitable for outdoor play, and that's perfectly fine. Turn the playroom into a fresh, summery base.

Swap accessories: Lighter shades of cushions or a cheerful rug immediately give a summer feel, without much effort.

Create a reading nook: A soft play mat, a few cushions, and a basket of books. Children love to relax in their own cool corner.

Foam elements as an adventure course: Climbing blocks and foam play elements stimulate motor skills and imagination. Build a fort, a course, or a stage. Every day is different.

In the garden: outside is the best toy

Choose one fixed play zone: A picnic blanket, some toys, and a parasol for shade are already enough. Children play better when they know: this is my spot.

Consider a lockable sandbox: A sandbox is gold for little hands. Close it when no one is playing to keep out cats, insects, and pests, and keep the sand clean for next time.

Keep it tidy: Outdoor toys naturally spread out. A basket or box to throw everything into makes it easier and cozier.

Water is always a good idea: Sometimes all you need is a small pool and a garden hose.
